This Friday, May 15, coinciding with the celebration of World Recycling Day , which is celebrated annually on May 17, the Perfume's Club team participated in a voluntary beach cleaning day at Ciudad Jardín beach in Palma.
The objective was very clear: to contribute our small part to the care of the environment and help to keep one of the most important natural spaces on the island free of waste.
Beyond beauty, we believe that caring also means protecting what surrounds us. And the sea, beaches, and natural environments are part of that.
That's why initiatives like this are so important: because they turn environmental awareness into real action.
During the day, the volunteers toured different areas of the beach collecting waste accumulated on the sand and in nearby areas.
The results of the collection reflect the importance of continuing to raise awareness about the impact of waste on our ecosystems:
Small pieces of waste that often go unnoticed, but end up directly affecting the natural environment and marine life.

Cigarette butts, for example, are one of the most polluting types of waste on beaches and can take years to decompose.
Plastics, meanwhile, continue to be one of the biggest environmental challenges, especially in coastal areas.
In addition, a large number of wet wipes have been collected on the shore, one of the biggest polluting wastes on beaches, which take more than 100 years to disintegrate and end up fragmenting into microplastics.
These do not dissolve in water and clog treatment plants, ending up in the sand and the sea, seriously affecting marine life.
These types of actions not only help to clean natural spaces , but also serve as a reminder of the importance of taking care of our daily habits.
Reducing the use of plastics, recycling correctly, or not leaving waste on the beach are small individual gestures that, added together, generate a great collective impact.
At Perfume's Club we believe that sustainability is also built on involvement and shared responsibility.
Participating in local initiatives allows us to connect with our environment in a more conscious way and contribute value beyond our daily activity.
The clean-up day in Ciudad Jardín has been, above all, an experience of collaboration, commitment and respect for the environment.
Seeing how a group of people dedicate part of their time to taking care of a common space demonstrates that change begins with simple, but constant actions.
From Perfume's Club we would like to thank all the volunteers who participated and helped make this initiative possible.
Because protecting our beaches shouldn't be a one-off thing, but a shared responsibility among everyone.
