With the arrival of summer, achieving a golden skin color is one of our main goals. Having tanned, luminous and hydrated skin is possible, without needing to expose ourselves to the sun's harmful radiation. As? Thanks to facial and body self-tanners. These offer the possibility of showing off a golden, natural tan, without having to go to the beach or pool.
Self-tanners are cosmetic products that allow you to achieve a gradual tan, without the generation of melanin, through an active ingredient known as DHA , which is obtained from plants such as beets or sugar cane, by the fermentation of the glycerin. DHA activates the proteins in the most superficial layer of the skin, giving rise to melanoidins , colored compounds that closely resemble the natural tan of the skin.

Surely, you have heard negative opinions about unnatural results after using a self-tanner: unwanted, orange tones or spots... but the reality is that, if you apply it well, the result is spectacular and very natural. We assure you!
5 basic steps for the correct application of the product:
1.- Exfoliate the skin well, 24 hours before application. Focus on areas with folds, such as knees, heels, elbows or fingers.
2.- Apply the self-tanner with the help of a glove , evenly all over the body, paying special attention to areas with folds.
3-. Clean your hands well when finished.
4-. Wait at least 10 minutes before getting dressed and, for the first few hours, wear dark, loose clothing.
5-. Repeat the application , with the regularity recommended by the brand.
Remember that a self-tanner does not protect from the sun. You should continue to use facial sun protection daily and body sun protection when exposed to the sun.
Now that you know how to apply self-tanner correctly, at Perfume's Club we bring you a list of some of the best self-tanners of the moment, so you can decide which format and texture best suits your needs.
