Choosing a lipstick can be both exciting and overwhelming. There are endless shades, finishes, and textures, but not all of them enhance your features in the same way. The key to getting it right is understanding how your skin tone works, which colors harmonize with it, and which nuances truly make your lips stand out.
At Perfume's Club we want to accompany you in that discovery process so that, when you look for a new lipstick, you do it with security and confidence.
When we talk about whether someone "looks good in warm tones" or "cool colors," we don't always know why. The reality is that skin not only has color (light, medium, or dark), but it also has an undertone, which is an internal hue that remains stable throughout life. And although it may seem like an advanced concept, it's very easy to understand.

Imagine your skin color as a blend of tones. Within that blend, there's a subtle golden hue, a pinkish undertone, or a balanced combination of both. That undertone is your skin tone .
A simple trick to identify your undertone is to look at the veins on your wrist: if they appear more green, you likely have a warm undertone; if they appear more blue or lilac, it's usually cool; if you're unsure, you're probably neutral. Once you know this little detail, choosing the lipstick that enhances your natural beauty becomes much easier.
Fair skin tones look stunning in soft shades that add freshness and a touch of warmth. Natural pinks, peach tones, and delicate corals brighten the face without making it look harsh. Warm nudes also work beautifully, especially if you're looking for a natural, everyday finish.
If you fancy a bolder look, classic reds—especially those with a slightly bluish undertone—create a beautiful contrast that adds sophistication without being over the top.
Medium skin tones are among the most versatile, allowing you to experiment with both warm and vibrant shades. Terracotta and toffee-toned nudes are especially flattering, as are brick reds and intense corals, which provide an immediate boost of radiance.
If you want to elevate your look for a special occasion, wine, raspberry or deeper red tones blend with this type of skin creating an elegant and harmonious effect.
Dark skin has a natural glow that pairs perfectly with a wide range of colors. Intense reds—cherry, brick, or pure red—stand out beautifully and add strength to the face. Warm nudes, toffee browns, and terracotta shades also work wonderfully, as they enhance the skin's natural radiance.
If you like bold colors, vibrant fuchsias and purples create a spectacular contrast and convey a lot of personality. And if your brown skin is lighter, soft corals or warm pinks can make your face look fresher and more radiant.
Once you know your undertone, you can further refine your lipstick choice.
Skin with cool undertones tends to harmonize very well with pink, fuchsia, raspberry and blue-based red colors, which enhance the natural luminosity of the face.
Skin with warm undertones is especially flattered by earth tones, corals, soft oranges, orangey reds, and warm nudes.
Neutral undertone skin tones have the advantage of being able to move freely between both groups: from nude beige to pure reds or wine tones, most colors integrate in a balanced way.
Beyond theory, choosing a lipstick is also a matter of emotion. The occasion, your mood, or even the clothes you're wearing can influence your choice. Don't be afraid to try new shades, mix finishes, or dare to wear colors you've never imagined before.
A great trick to make any lipstick look better is to pair it with a lip liner in a similar shade: it defines the lips, adds visual volume, and prolongs the color's wear. And if you want a juicier result, a touch of gloss can completely transform any matte or creamy lipstick.
And remember: the best lip color is the one that makes you smile when you see yourself in the mirror.
